Back in October Martin followed two local contractors who appeared in the same field, in Knockfield, Co Kildare, on the same day - Basil Stephenson and the Cassells Bros.
Stephenson has been operating in agriculture work for the past number of years all over Wicklow, Kildare, Carlow, and even as far as Dublin. He purchased a brand new 2015 Krone Big X 700 this year along with two attachments - a silage header and maize header.
After Basil had reached past midway in the 25 acre field, another local contractor, Cassells Bros, pulled in to plough and sow winter corn for next year's harvest. Martin says things had to move quickly as this was a wet field and rain was on its way the following weekend.
